He lived from 685-737. He was a visigothic nobleman who founded the Kingdom of Asturias. He ruled it from 718 until his death. Through his victory at the Battle of Cobadonga, he established an independent Christian state. He is considered important because he stoped the muslims that want to conquered the north and also because he started the reconquest. Before that, when the muslims started to conquered the Iberian Peninsula he take refuge in Asturias where he have family and friends. After the Battle of Guadalete in 711 he refuge in Toledo. His sucesor was Favila I, he reigned from 737 to 739. In Cangas de Onis, Asturias there is located a monument to honor Don Pelayo.

I am going to talk about what happened in the Conquest of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada in the 15th Century (1492)
Main Ideas:
The Nasrid Kingdom of Granada was the last Islamic Kingdom in the Weastern in Europe. The Nasrid family until this time had been insignificant and they took advantage of the fall of the Almohads in Spain after 1229 when some local rulers and governors started to create small kingdoms. One of these was Muhammad ibn Yusuf ibn Nasr from Arjona (Jaen). The 18th of April of 1232 proclaimed himself Muhammad I. After the death of Muhammad V, Castilian armies again invided The Nasrid Kingdom in April 1394.

The war was a joint project between Isabella I Queen of the Crown of Castle and Ferdinand I King of the Crown of Aragon. The bulk of the troops and funds for the war came from Castile, and Granada was annexed into Castile's lands. The Crown of Aragon was less important,But it also contributes; Aragon provided naval collaboration, guns, and some financial loans. Aristocrats were offered the allure of new lands, while Ferdinand and Isabella centralized and consolidated power.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, the Al Qaeda terrorist group kidnapped two Boeing 767 of American Airlines and United Airlines, each smashing them into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York. In the attacks on the Twin Towers 2602 people died (not counting the people on board the two aircraft), who could not leave the building by destroying magazines stairs, shattered by aircraft. This attack is considered as the worst disgrace in the history of the United States to date. The process of cleanup and recovery of the site where the Twin Towers stood and other buildings took eight months. In memory of the attacks and the hundreds of people dead and the development of Corporation of the Lower Manhattan built a memorial to honor the victims. Today, the site where the Twin Towers rose is known as Ground Zero and has become a meeting point for tourists from around the world.
